New member looking for help
 

Been out of modeling for a few years and looking for plans and references to the Constitution. Most of the model kits are out of my price range so I'm thinking of building from scratch. I realize most of the small metal hardware would have to be purchased, but I can do that over time. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi Leonard. Welcome Aboard!

Check out the Ship Plans list in the links section of the forum. I also would recommend you check out the Anatomy of the Ship series of books, there is an excellent one on the Constitution that would be a great resource for anyone scratch building the ship.

Browse around the Forum, and if you have any questions or need any help, just post it here in the Scuttlebutt

I was stunned to see that MS had plans for download so I went to the site that you posted. Unless I'm missing something I did not see the plans. I did however see the construction manual for download. Did I foul up?

Thanks for all the replies. I'm still learning the forum layout and didn't even realize that I had replies. lol I'll look at the plans a little later in the day. I had no idea when I joined that there was so much information here. One thing I would like though are photos of the Constitution. Are there any members here who live close by Boston that plan on visiting the ship? Or someone who has that would be willing to send me pics? Thanks again for the help. I WILL be asking for more info as the model progresses.

I live just north of Boston. I have been planning to visit the Constitution again, but have been tied up with college visits with my daughter. I may have some time in November, so if you can come up with a list of pics you are interested in, I can make sure I cover those for you.
