Hello Guest! There's a lot to look over, so sit back with a cup of coffee, relax and browse around. We have a great group of ship and boat modelers here, both newbies and old salts, from all over the world. Our goal here is to help each other, without criticism or rebuke. Both newbies and old salts alike can learn from each other. No one has all the answers. Our most basic rule is simple, respect for your fellow members and their opinions. And don't take yourself too seriously! wirewolf (John, AKA - Cap), Forum Administrator

Default Re: Who's your favorite kit manufactuer

I am staying with two companies - A. Latina and M Shipways. I have finish three ships from AL; Scottish Maid, Anatomy of the H.M.S. Bounty (20604 – the older version), and San Juan, and at present, I am working on AL Santa Ana. I can honestly say AL has come a long way over the years. There older kits like Anatomy of the H.M.S. Bounty 20604 was very difficult to build, however, looks extremely nice when finish. Their revise kit, the San Juan, was enjoyable to build. There newer kits like Santa Ana is going together nicely without any headaches. Hundreds of color photos in the manual is a lifesaver, sails sewn well enough you can actually use. They are also using tons more exotic woods in their newer kits to help give them a more distinctive look like tanganyka, sapelia, and manzonia. Overall, AL is about the best European kit I have found so far.
